Q&A: What is leakage air at a valve?
What is leakage air at a valve?
All rotary airlocks, regardless of construction or brand, will leak. However, depending on the construction, leaks can be minimized. There are basically three types of spills associated with rotating airlocks:
- Transfer Leakage: As a result of the return of empty bags.
- Labyrinth Leak: Due to shaft seals losses in the housing.
- Detection Leak: Due to the clearance between the rotor tips and the housing.
