What are the pros and cons of a batch mixer?
Advantages
- Applicable with discontinuous process flows,
- Quick change of recipe. Product also leaves the mixer discontinuously, so that different batches / recipes can be kept separate from each other,
- Process can easily be interrupted for inspection, sampling or adding manually,
- Very reliable recipe accuracy.
Disadvantages
- Larger design for the same capacity than a continuous mixer,
- More expensive than continuous mixer due to installation size.
