How does a feeding device work?

A feeding device or feeder is equipped with a rotating roller that has chambers. The raw material is buffered in a hopper above the feeding device. When turning, the raw material is transported 180 degrees and falls into the hammer mill. The rotating roller is frequency / rpm controlled. The speed is determined by the load on the hammer mill. This ensures that the available capacity of the hammer mill is optimally utilised.

A feed device can also fulfil other functions. Foreign parts, metals, stones and the like can be removed before they enter the mill. This reduces the risk of damage. The feed device can add air.
